How we review and rate online casinos

A rating means nothing unless you know what produced it. Here is the full procedure behind every table and every score on this site, in the order we run it.
1. Licence and ownership
We check the licence number on the regulator's own register, not the logo in the casino footer, and we note who operates the brand. Registration with iGaming Ontario is recorded separately: it is the only status that gives a Canadian player a Canadian dispute route.
2. A real account, a real deposit
We register as a Canadian player, deposit through a Canadian rail — Interac first, iDebit or a card when Interac is missing — and record whether the balance is genuinely held in Canadian dollars or converted.
3. Bonus terms, read in full
Wagering multiple, maximum bet while wagering, game weighting, expiry and the maximum cash-out from bonus money. An offer with a 70× requirement is not better than a smaller one at 30×, and we say so in the review. Ontario players see no bonus figures at all — advertising them is prohibited there.
4. A timed withdrawal
We request a cash-out and log the time to approval and the time to the money arriving, plus every document requested along the way. Operators that hold a payout without explanation lose more points than anything else costs them.
5. Support and fine print
Two questions to live chat — one simple, one about the terms — and a look at the restricted-country list, the dormancy fee and the withdrawal caps. Then the scores go into our tables and the brand takes its place.
Re-checks and corrections
Every listed brand is re-checked monthly, and terms change quietly more often than you would expect. If you find something on this site that no longer matches reality, tell us through the contact page and we will re-test it.
We earn a commission when a reader opens an account through our links. It pays for the deposits we make during testing; it does not buy a position in any table, and operators cannot pay to be listed.
